Welcome to the tree-fringed Skiathos, an island with lush greenery and emerald waters that will take your breath away. The capital of Skiathos is a scenic small town with a main street named after one of Greece’s most notable writers, Alexander Papadiamantis. You can also visit his house which is now a museum and soak up some culture. When in Skiathos, paying a visit at Koukounaries beach is a must. Named after the many pinecones that can be found there, Koukounaries beach is a real natural beauty with golden sand and almost green waters. Lalaria beach is another beach you should definitely explore. Accessible only by boat, the beach is famed for its pearl-white pebbles and astonishing rocky formations. Remember, it is forbidden to take the pebbles, you just have to find another Skiathos memorabilia! Aselinos, Vromolimnos and Megali Ammos are a few more beaches to keep in mind. Johnny’s and Agantio restaurants are both great choices for Greek food. Come nighttime, head to Maxilares, find yourself a comfy pillow and treat yourself to a nice cocktail.
